Exclusive Investigation: The Hidden Truth About the Epic Mosque in Plano, Texas

By Brannon Howse, WorldviewTube

On May 15, 2025, we aired an exclusive report on WorldviewTube that every American needs to hear. We sent Dave Gaubatz, a former federal officer, military veteran, and expert on Islam, to investigate the East Plano Islamic Center (Epic) in Plano, Texas. What he uncovered is nothing short of alarming—a sprawling 402-acre compound, a mosque promoting dangerous ideologies, and a network of influence that reaches the highest levels of power. This is not speculation; this is a firsthand account backed by a sworn affidavit, audio recordings, photographs, and undeniable evidence.

The Mission

We provided Dave Gaubatz with an honorarium to cover his travel and time to conduct a thorough investigation from May 1-4, 2025, with specific focus on the Epic mosque on May 2-3. Gaubatz, an Arabic linguist with decades of experience in law enforcement and intelligence, went undercover as a Caucasian American convert to Islam. His fluency in Arabic, adherence to Sharia protocols, and knowledge of Islamic texts allowed him to gain access to the mosque and engage with its members without arousing suspicion. His findings expose a chilling reality that mainstream media outlets like Fox News and Newsmax won’t touch—likely because of the billions of dollars pouring into American media from foreign entities like Saudi Arabia.

The Epic Compound: A Fortress of Ideology

The Epic mosque is not just a place of worship; it’s the centerpiece of a 402-acre compound that includes over 100 homes, with more under construction. These are not modest dwellings—each home ranges from $1 million to $1.5 million, designed for large families with multiple wives and children. The compound is strategically located around the Plano Criminal Justice Center, effectively surrounding the local police and SWAT facilities. Armed security patrols the mosque, with guards carrying weapons even inside the prayer room—a show of force meant to intimidate, according to Gaubatz.

The mosque itself is complete, presenting a polished, “Disneyland-type” facade to the public. Women are allowed to enter through the front door and congregate in the main lobby, a rare practice in traditional mosques that Gaubatz says is a deliberate attempt to appear moderate and align with American standards. But beneath this veneer lies a dangerous truth: the mosque is a 100% Salafist-Wahhabi, Hanbali-type institution, adhering to one of the most radical and violent ideologies within Islam, comparable to those espoused by Al-Qaeda, ISIS, Hamas, and the Muslim Brotherhood.

Disturbing Materials and Teachings

Gaubatz spent hours inside the mosque, uncovering materials that promote jihad, child marriage, and the killing of Christians and Jews. One book, Jihad in the Quran and Sunnah, was found both in the mosque and at a Dallas bookstore recommended by mosque members. This text explicitly calls for Muslims to prepare for jihad with modern weapons—tanks, missiles, artillery, airplanes, and naval ships—emphasizing that this is not a historical concept but a directive for today. Gaubatz quoted from the book: “The Muslims were ordered to take all precautions against the enemies of Allah and to get ready against them with all they can of power, because that is the first step for jihad, fighting.”

The mosque’s library also contains manuals like Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Sahih Muslim, Bukhari, and Riyadh al-Salihin, which advocate for practices such as child marriage, citing the example of Prophet Muhammad marrying Aisha at age six. These texts are readily available to worshippers, including children, who attend the mosque’s school (kindergarten through eighth grade) and weekend lectures. Gaubatz attended these sessions, where speakers openly promoted a global Islamic ummah under Sharia law and called for violence against Christians and Jews.

Yasser Qadhi: The Resident Scholar

At the heart of this operation is Yasser Qadhi, the mosque’s resident scholar. Qadhi, a 50-year-old Pakistani who studied in Saudi Arabia and at Yale, has a troubling history. In 2010, I reported on WorldviewTube that Qadhi referred to the Holocaust as “false propaganda” in a 2001 speech. His institute has ties to notorious terrorists, including the underwear bomber Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab and Daniel Maldonado. Qadhi also maintains close relationships with the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a Muslim Brotherhood affiliate, and Siraj Wahhaj, an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing whom Gaubatz calls “the most dangerous Muslim in America.”

Wahhaj’s influence is particularly chilling. Gaubatz revealed an audio recording of Wahhaj instructing mosque members to recruit gang members—Bloods, Crips, MS-13—into Islam, train them, and send them back to the streets armed with Uzis to advance the cause of Islam. This is happening in 2025, and mosques like Epic are becoming safe havens for gang members and illegal immigrants, with the left’s tacit support.

A Double Standard in Law Enforcement

Gaubatz’s investigation highlights a stark double standard in how authorities handle religious extremism. He recounted a hypothetical scenario he presents to local sheriffs: if a Baptist church were advocating child marriage and slavery, sheriffs would deploy SWAT teams within hours. But when presented with evidence of a mosque promoting child marriage and violence against Christians and Jews, the response is a 180-degree shift. Sheriffs cite “cultural differences” and fear backlash from the left and the 50 million Americans who might defend Islam. Federal agencies like the FBI further complicate matters, requiring local law enforcement to coordinate with FBI task forces and obtain approval from headquarters—approval that is rarely granted.

This double standard echoes the 1993 Waco siege, where the federal government used tanks and SWAT teams against David Koresh’s Branch Davidians over concerns about child welfare and extremism. Yet, as Gaubatz pointed out, Waco involved a small group with a few hundred dollars, while mosques like Epic are backed by billions from Iran, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE. The financial and political influence makes them untouchable, even when evidence of terrorist activity is overwhelming.

Compromised Leadership and Interfaith Deception

Perhaps the most shocking revelation is the role of so-called Christian leaders in advancing Islam’s agenda. In 2017, evangelical apologist James White, a close associate of John MacArthur’s Grace to You ministry, engaged in an interfaith dialogue with Yasser Qadhi. When I exposed Qadhi’s extremist ties, I was attacked—not by Muslims, but by MacArthur’s executive director, Phil Johnson, and his allies. They doxxed my home address and church, forcing me to stop attending for safety reasons. Justin Peters, another MacArthur ally, went so far as to claim, “Islam does not pose a threat to the church,” a statement Gaubatz called “the biggest lie” fed to Christians.

Gaubatz explained that interfaith dialogues are a deliberate strategy out of Saudi Arabia to co-opt Christian and Jewish leaders. Imams boast that once a pastor or rabbi promotes Islam as “peaceful,” they control the congregation, neutralizing opposition. I believe figures like James White, John MacArthur, Phil Johnson, and Justin Peters have unwittingly—or worse, knowingly—helped build mosques like Epic by downplaying the threat of Islam. They should have a plaque at Epic thanking them for their complicity.

A Call to Action

The Epic mosque is a sleeper cell, a 3,000-person hub of radical ideology funded by foreign powers and protected by compromised politicians and law enforcement. Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who appears aligned with the World Economic Forum, has done little to address the growing number of mosques in Dallas. Local politicians likely facilitated the compound’s development, and investigations into violations of the Federal Fair Housing Act (non-Muslims are barred from buying homes) are unlikely to yield results.

The Stakes

Gaubatz’s findings are a wake-up call. Islam is not a “religion of peace” but a growing threat to America, our churches, and our children. The materials at Epic advocate for jihad, child marriage, and the destruction of Israel and America. Organizations like CAIR and individuals like Siraj Wahhaj operate with impunity, while Christian leaders betray their flocks by cozying up to radicals. If we don’t act, Gaubatz warns, Islam will continue to win without another 9/11, as imams told him, because they’re already succeeding through infiltration and influence.

Demand that politicians and religious leaders close these mosques, prosecute those promoting terrorism, and designate groups like Wahhaj’s MANA as domestic terrorist organizations. Share this report. Support our work. The truth is our weapon, but only if we wield it.
